1. Trains & Local Rail (RENFE)
The C-1 line connects Malaga Airport with the main coastal towns. However, it has significant drawbacks for tourists:
During peak hours, summer weekends, and major events like Semana Santa or the Malaga Feria, these trains become extremely overcrowded. Traveling with heavy luggage is exhausting. Also, service stops around midnight; if your flight is delayed, you'll be stranded.
2. Regional Bus Network
Direct buses run to Marbella and Estepona, but frequencies are low. You'll be tied to rigid timetables and busy stations.
3. Taxis & Uber
Good for short hops, but very expensive for day trips. A single round trip to a white village can cost more than a 4-day car rental.
